The Asian Ocean Society of Regional anesthesia and Pain Medicine (AOSRA-PM) is pleased to declare the availability of education fellowships that will be granted to support training in regional anesthesia practice for applicants without access to similar training in their home country.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Member of AOSRA-PM.
- Applicants with a minimum of 2 years in anesthesia core medical training (e.g. faculty in regional anesthesia, anesthesia or pain management) are preferred.
- Intent to return to their country after the period of fellowship.
- Age less than 45 yrs.
The AOSRA-PM Fellowship Jury Committee will make the selection of successful candidates. Applicants will be informed of the decision.
The successful candidate will be expected to fulfill the following obligations:
- Arrange the exact dates of the fellowship with the host institution and check on any host country and institution confinements. The host institution cannot be changed. Applicants should check all the possible obstacles that can prevent them from being in the hosting institution in the proposed period (VISA, health restrictions, etc.) before application. Application acceptance to actual commencement with lead time of minimum 3 months for visa and approval
- It is anticipated that the fellowship will be completed without intrusion, but in the event of exceptional circumstances, consideration for approval will be made by the center and AOSRA-PM Fellowship Committee.
- The fellow must submit a final report / video at the end of the fellowship, to the AOSRA-PM Secretariat.
How to Apply

In addition to the application form, the following supporting documents are required:
- Evidence of relevant medical training including medical registration number/ medical license
- Copy of passport or other government issued ID
- Letter of recommendation from the home AOSRA-PM representative
- The local commitments of the applicants and local notice to be relieved to attend the sessions
- Letter of intent
- Travel Medical insurance during the stay in hosting country to cover their possible medical emergencies expenses
- A letter of good standing from the applicant’s country of practice
- A Health Certificate that confirms good health condition with negative contagious antigens

Types of AOSRA-PM Fellowships:
The AOSRA-PM Fellowship program is categorized into three types:
1) Observership:
- 6 countries have accepted a 1-3 month observership period (India, Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, Iran, Bangladesh). Some institutes provide facilities (accommodation, meals) for the candidate, which will be available on-site. Please consider that this opportunity is mostly observership, so the delegate is fully supervised/observed by the faculty and is not independent.
- South Korea: Samsung Medical Center (3-month international program):

- Thailand: Siriraj Hospital (1-month international program)

- The institution will provide around US $1000 or a little less according to the exchange rate for accommodation and food.
- Vietnam: FV Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City

- No accommodation. Only lunch will be freely served at the hospital
2) 6-to-12-month Fellowship:
- Available at GANGA hospital, Coimbatore, India. This position is paid by this institute.

- This center admits one AOSRAPM Fellow every 6 months. The session start date will be 1st January and 1st July every year. Their monthly stipend to the Fellow would be Rs 50,000 Indian Rupees. This money is enough to pay for the accommodation and food.
Scholarship: A total amount of 2,500.00 USD per person could be funded by AOSRA-PM. This scholarship could be granted to two people (maximum) annually. The candidate would be selected among the volunteers by the scientific fellowship committee and mostly allocated for countries with high demand of educational need in RA, remote locations and low income setting except for special cases. The requests to select the best candidate for scholarship between the volunteers will be assessed by the Fellowship Scientific Committee of AOSRA-PM.
Dr Mary Grace Lanosa from Phillipines will be the First AOSRAPM Fellow.
