AOSRA President Message

"Stepping Forward Together: A New Chapter for AOSRA-PM"

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is with great honor and enthusiasm that I step into the role of President of the Asian and Oceanic Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine (AOSRA-PM). As we embark on this new chapter together, I am inspired by the incredible legacy we have built and eager to continue advancing our society’s goals.

Looking ahead, my vision for AOSRA-PM is centered around four key objectives:

  1. Globalization of AOSRA-PM: Expanding our reach is a priority. By increasing the number of member countries, especially in regions like China, Taiwan, the Pacific Islands, and the Middle East, we can bring fresh perspectives and voices into our community. This expansion will not only strengthen our presence internationally but also foster greater collaboration across borders.
  2. Unity and Harmony: Our strength as a society lies in our diversity and our ability to work together harmoniously. By respecting the unique expertise and cultural backgrounds of our members, we can create a unified society that thrives on collaboration and shared purpose.
  3. Advancing Collaboration with Sister Societies: Building stronger relationships with sister societies worldwide is essential to our growth. Through these partnerships, we will share knowledge, enhance patient care, and drive forward the development of regional anesthesia and pain medicine on a global scale.
  4. Leadership in Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine: AOSRA-PM should be the leading voice in our field throughout Asia and Oceania. By leveraging the talent and dedication of our members, we will work to become recognized leaders, pushing the boundaries of regional anesthesia and pain management in our region and beyond.

These goals reflect our commitment to excellence and our collective ambition to lead in the advancement of anesthesia and pain medicine. Together, we will continue to build on the solid foundation laid by our predecessors, ensuring that AOSRA-PM remains a beacon of knowledge, collaboration, and innovation.

I look forward to working with all the AOSRA-PM members as we move toward a brighter future for regional anesthesia and pain medicine in Asia and Oceania. Let us continue this journey with passion, dedication, and a shared vision for a stronger, more globally recognized AOSRA-PM.

Warm regards,
Justin Sangwook Ko, MD, PhD
